Since 2003 when APES was founded, APES Sanctuary for Primates has been the Vision. APES will be their forever home, a new life, and for those we will restore dignity, trust, health and happiness.
In 2007 we began our search for the property upon which to establish the APES Sanctuary for Primates, and now that the property has been acquired and dedicated to the mission of APES, our focus is on development of the sanctuary. During this process however, we often hear about primates who need us now. There is a sense of urgency, for each day we are not there to accept them into our guardianship—they wait and often suffer. With your help, we will become their new home sooner. Please support our vision so we may join the other few and fine sanctuaries in North America committed to this very goal.
Who needs us? There are currently over 1,200 chimpanzees used in biomedical research in the United States. Some have served their time and could now be retired into a sanctuary who can accept them. Other primates also need sanctuary. Entertainment and pet-trade cast-offs, primates from defunct road-side zoos, these ‘used’ beings also need help.
We are committed to providing an exceptional home to primates who need us. We can only accept those for whom we can properly and completely care for, will you help us help them?
The Conservation Trust dba APES is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, your generous donations are tax-deductible, thank you for caring.
